Armin Roth is Head of the Research Area "Enterprise Performance Management & Business Intelligence" and professor of management, controlling & business intelligence at the Reutlingen University. Prior to this, he had held senior positions in management and IT consulting as well as commercial director in industry for many years.

Research

The Enterprise Performance Management & Business Intelligence research area examines how the performance and competitiveness of enterprises can be enhanced by the use of innovative business concepts and IT technologies.

The focus is on the way in which the decision-relevant information on strategic and operational company management can be filtered out of the multitude of data (from social media and industry platforms, from the company-internal CRM, ERP or other sensor-based systems) and in the further management process Systematically. The analysis, planning, control, simulation and visualization of business-relevant information for decision-making and generation of competitive advantages is to be supported in a manageable manner.

Within the framework of this research activity, the management cockpit laboratory, which has become well-known in many continents, was developed and gradually developed further.

In addition to big data questions, Social Media or Industry 4.0, the topics of Predictive Analytics and Predictive Maintenance are also addressed in research and industrial projects.
