Prof. Dr. Dieter Hertweck
Dieter Hertweck is professor of Service Science at the Faculty of Computer Science at the Reutlingen University. Prior to this, he was professor for business informatics and head of the electronic business institute at Heilbronn University, before he headed the Department of BPEM at the Research Center for Computer Science at KIT (FZI). Dieter Hertweck has taken a doctoral degree in businessinformatics in the research group of Prof. Helmut Krcmar. His research focuses on service science, IT management, process and knowledge management.

Martin Kinitzki is the contact person for lecturers and on-site support for the courses.
In addition, as a doctoral student, he is researching new methods for conveying technology knowledge to SME decision-makers and supervises the topics of innovation and business model development.

The research group's courses include IT service management, knowledge management, service science and methods for the development of service innovations. Through the lectures, students are to be enabled to develop, introduce, implement, operate and permanently improve new business models through service innovations for companies. In addition to modeling and management, this also includes in-depth knowledge in the area of creative and knowledge work.
The IT Service Management for SMEs are currently being worked on in the publicly funded EU project ITSM4SME, further, privately financed research projects deal with the benchmarking of the service quality of IT service providers, Or the development of service ecosystems for manufacturing companies.
Current project: Urban energy systems and resource efficiency (ENsource)
The research group cooperates in the field of service research with the Cracow University of Economics, the Technical University of Munich and the University of Vienna. As a partner for the innovation transfer, there are close cooperations with the MFG-Baden-Württemberg, Baden-Württemberg Connected (BWCON) and the Cyberforum Karlsruhe.
Within the scope of joint research and practice projects, the Group cooperates very closely with service providers for SMEs, such as Bechtle AG, Fujitsu TDS GmbH, but also with manufacturing SMEs, The Pollrich DLK GmbH. Research has also existed in the past with IT service providers such as the IT of Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG or Siller IT-Service GmbH. On the software side, there have been very close cooperations with BOC Group GmbH and CAS Software AG for years.
